ANGELES CITY – In line with its commitment to support the advocacy for water security and protection of watersheds, the ROMAC Group has been actively participating in the series of tree-planting activities in Barangay Sapangbato, Angeles City.
ROMAC joined 50 other private groups and companies last June 19, 2021 in planting some 2,500 trees and bamboos inside a two-hectare planting site that is part of the 560-hectare Angeles watershed. There is an on-going program to rehabilitate and develop the watershed.
The Angeles Watershed Rehabilitation Program (AWRP) is a joint advocacy of the Angeles City LGU and the Abacan River and Angeles Watershed Advocacy Council, Inc (ARAW-ACI). ARAW-ACI is tasked to encourage and engage private companies like ROMAC to support the program and take part in the series of tree-planting events.
In an interview, ROMAC Chairman Renato G. Romero said that protecting the environment and ensuring the adequate supply of water for Clark and Angeles has been part of the company’s long-time advocacy.
“As a member of the business sector, we understand the value of water security. We have to share the responsibility of ensuring that the next generations will have enough supply of weather and energy. Business only thrives when the much-needed utilities are sufficient and sustainable,” Romero said.
ROMAC, one of the outstanding and biggest human resource contractors in the Philippines, has been doing business in Luzon and Visayas for the past 41 years. The company is not only helping build people’s lives, but it has been consistently helping in protecting the environment from abuse and degradation.
ROMAC is also a staunch partner of environmental NGOs like ARAW-ACi in realizing important advocacies for sustainability and development.
